The incredible journey of the 2009 Philadelphia Phillies continues to Game 2 of the World Series! The Phillies will again be at Yankee Stadium. We, however, will be in Lafayette Hill at Brittingham's Irish Pub! And folks, if what I was told is correct, hot dogs are FREE. Yes, FREE! There are other specials, too: 25 cent wings, $2.50 Bud and Bud Light and $3.00 Miller Lite Drafts.

We'll need the spirit of Tug McGraw to bring us some Luck O' the Irish this World Series, so what better place to watch Game 2 than an Irish Pub!

Phillies Meetup has 2 tickets to Game 3 of the National League Championship Series between the Phils and L.A. Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park (to be played October 18th, 2009). We are raffling them off to give one lucky member a chance to see a BIG playoff game without paying big bucks. The entry fee is $10. The winner receives, at no extra cost, two tickets for the game (total value -- $170). Please note the following stipulations:

--Any Phillies Meetup member (as of October 13, 2009) is eligible, with the exception of the group organizer and (2) assistant organizers. Only one entry per member will be accepted. Entries must be made by Friday (October 16, 2009) at 12PM to be valid. To enter –
1) Go to the Phillies Meetup website.
2) Find the event listing for “Raffle”.
3) RSVP “YES”.
4) Make electronic payment using Amazon Payments. If you do not already have an account, it will take a few minutes to create one. It is integrated with Meetup.com.

--The entry fee is $10. Our intent is to cover the cost of the tickets, plus collect some extra for future Meetup activities (tailgates, etc.). If we do not receive at least 20 entries from this group, the raffle will be cancelled and all entry fees immediately refunded.

--The drawing will be made on Saturday, October 17th at or around Noon. The winner will be immediately notified by e-mail. The winner is responsible to check e-mail in advance of the game date. If the winner does not reply to the e-mail by October 18th at Noon, the prize is forfeited and another winner will be drawn and notified. The winner will make arrangement with the group organizer on a reasonable time and place to receive the tickets.

Prior to the game, member Rob Palermo will be hosting a cookout, starting at 4PM. It will take place in the Lincoln Financial Field parking lot at Section K-7, right across from the ballpark. Join Phillies Meetup to cheer our team against former Phillie Aaron Rowand and the tough San Francisco Giants. It is also Goya Latino Family Celebration Night at the ballpark. For those who can arrive early, we will be having a modest get-together in the parking lot starting around 5:30PM, featuring snacks and drinks. Details will be provided closer to event date. Game time is 7:05PM.
